Ibrahim Safadi

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Ibrahim Safadi is the founder and CEO of Luminus Education. He is a Jordanian entrepreneur whose passion and commitment to help young people improve their lives drove him to create an innovative education-for-employment model that targets low and middle-income students. Frustrated with his own university experience, that he felt was not equipping him with relevant skills for the job market, Safadi dropped out of university and started the long and challenging journey to promote vocational education in Jordan as a pathway to improving the career prospects of youth.

Being a world-class entrepreneur, Safadi took the opportunity offered by a partnership with the European Union in 2016 to set up Luminus Shamal Start; an incubator, Fab Lab and Maker Space focused on high potential start-ups in the hardware and manufacturing sectors. After just sixteen months in operation, 54 start-ups have been incubated and over 160 jobs have been created.

Dr. Ayman Maqableh

Dean of LTUC

Dr. Ayman Maqableh has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK. He has extensive experience in workforce development, technical and vocational education and public-private partnerships. He is currently the Dean of Al-Quds College, managing more than 300 academic and administrative employees.

Working as Manager of the University Technology Center at the University of Nottingham and as Energy Technologist at Rolls Royce Plc. in the UK – together with his experience in dealing with international organizations such as USAID, TEMPUUS, GIZ and Pearson Edexcel – has given Dr. Maqableh wide international knowledge.

VP Growth & Regional Expansion – Luminus Education // CEO – Luminus Plus

As Vice President for Growth and Regional Expansion of Luminus Education, Haifa is mandated with leading its transition to the Arab World’s Number One E4E provider, with blended and online technical education and expansion beyond Jordan.
Between December 2012 and September 2018, she was the founding CEO of the Queen Rania Foundation (QRF), an umbrella organization for eight independent NGOs, and a research hub to inform national educational policy and develop programs such as Edraak, a highly successful MOOC platform which also helped set up Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Labor’s Duroob platform.
Haifa was appointed in 2015 by the Prime Minister to serve on the National Committee for Human Resources Development Strategy and she led the authoring of the early childhood and K-12 part of that strategy. She had started her career as a public school teacher, moved to the Royal Court where she rose to the position of Deputy Director of the Office of the then Crown Prince, to later become Vice President of the International Baccalaureate Organization’s Council of Foundation (IBO) and its regional representative for the Middle East. She later joined the Aga Khan Academies, then became president of the Jordanian Osteoporosis Prevention Society.

Diala Qarqash

Chief Commercial Officer

Diala Qarqash has been the Chief Commercial Officer at Luminus Education since 2015, and has been with the group since 2011. She leads three teams within the organization to transform the entity’s vision into operational plans that integrate all activities.

With over 17 years of experience in education management, Qarqash plays a lead role in the development and management of international strategic partnerships to transfer knowledge and create unique, demand-driven education and training programs. Her passion has always been in promoting international education in the region, with vast experience encompassing building strategic partnerships with international education providers in Jordan and the Gulf.

Qarqash has an MBA from  Lancaster University, and a BA in English Language and Literature from Irbid National University, Jordan.

Ahmad Jarrar

Chief Financial Officer

Ahmad Jarrar is a member of the executive team that manages the companies of the group. Throughout his career, he has held managerial positions including Chief Financial Officer for Kulacom and Senior Manager at Ernst & Young Consulting.

Jarrar has extensive experience in financial consulting, financial modeling and program management across major industries. He has participated in many strategy workshops and has reformed industries to allow privatization of government owned entities.

Jarrar holds a Finance MBA from Cardiff Business School/University of Wales, UK and a BA in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut.

Shatha Ibrahim Naser

Chief Information Officer

Shatha Ibrahim Naser is the CIO of the group, working closely with the CEO to drive the business through technology. She has over 20 years of experience across many industries and regions worldwide.

Naser holds an MBA from the University of Bath, UK and a BSc in Computers. She was previously VP of IT at Catalyst, identifying and investing in potential startups in the region. For eight years, she headed the HP innovation centers for EMEA, leading the innovation dialogue for 600 CxO’s.

Amanda Kelleher

Director - International Education

A learning and development professional with over 20 years of academic and commercial experience in the MENA and SE Asia regions, Kelleher joined Luminus Education in 2015 to support the development of vocational solutions to meet market and donor requirements.

Kelleher was the Middle East & North Africa Regional Manager for City & Guilds, where she successfully built both the regional business and team to achieve significant year on year growth while maintaining margin, an important criterion in a non-for-profit organization. She has also worked for Dubai University and Dubai Aluminum.
