In recognition of significant efforts to advance Gender Diversity, Luminus Education participated in and won the Mashreq Gender Faciity/IFC “Thinking Forward” competition; Journey2GenderDiversity. The Journey2GenderDiversity is organized under the Mashreq Gender Facility (MGF) which is a five-year technical facility by the World Bank group (World Bank and IFC), aimed at increasing women’s economic participation in Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan. This competition is part pf the country-specific women’s employment peer learning platform that the International Finance Corporation (IFC) have launched respectively in Jordan, and in partnership with int@j and JNCW. The competition is tailored to support companies with their workforce gender diversity goals.
As a winner of the “Thinking Forward” competition, Luminus Education will receive advisory services from the IFC, that include an outcome report and a gender action plan that contains recommendations for creating a gender-equitable, family-friendly workplace that ensures quality employment opportunities for all current employees in the organization.

Notably, Luminus Education is also a member of the UN Women – WEPs global network. As such, Luminus Education has adopted the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) as part of its commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace, and community. The WEP Principles guide businesses on how to promote gender equality and empower women in the workplace, marketplace, and community.

Luminus Education signed an MoU with Support and Accelerate Women’s Inclusion (SAWI) program on the 15th of June. This project aims to develop, improve and implement human resources policies and practices across 8 countries in the MENA region across various industries and enhance women’s economic participation. The program is funded by the US State Department and the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and implemented by the American University of Beirut (AUB) in partnership with the Business and Professional Women Association (BPWA).
